There is lot of option to start my personal website or blog, start with buying a domain name and host it on trial base to a free web hosting server. You have to spend little money to buy a domain name and then register to a free hosting.

We have to change in domain account to provide that free hosting server’s naming server and just work is done to launch brand new website or blog.

Many people who are working in Information technologies or software developer start their part time work on internet by this method. Other people also try this method, to launch blog or register on blogger or Wordpress. Today many website provide free blogs like

Blogger.com by Google
wordpress.com by Wordpress

and many other website provides free blogging for user. If we search on Google search engine about free blog keyword, we get 13 millions of web pages in result, who provide free blogging on their website.

Besides of blog, free websites also a big topic to discuss. Almost all web hosting company provide free web hosting account for trial their services before buying hosting plan from them.

Some of free web hosting companies put their ads in your website or some attach popup windows to generate money from your website.

Some of free web hosting companies are

http://50gigs.net/

http://www.awardspace.com/

http://www.freehostia.com

Final question still come in mind should we host our site on free web hosting account. Should we have to take risk on this. There is problem of efficiency of server and service we get from these free web hosting servers.

We don’t get full CPU process for our website

Connection limit for Mysql

Slower

Up time is not 99.9%

Easily crash servers loss your data

This question comes in mind when you think about java hosting for yourself and for your company. This question is not even difficult for web hosting in java also in normal web hosting. Many web hosting company promise lot of things but few of them only fulfills their promises. If you talk about java hosting, it is a big headache for everyone where they should go. If you search on google, millions of pages come in result about java hosting. Most of top 25 result’s site dont have impressive their own website. To do trust on these hoster is also dangerous sometimes. Only few of them are good, but they charge too high for their services in compare to php or other technology.

Mostly Jave Web Hosting have two plans

Shared Web Hosting (common JVM)

Private Web Hosting (Separate JVM)

Shared Java Web Hosting
Shared Java Hosting is simple web hosting, where all domain using same JVM sharing by all websites. If they are using tomcat, all web application put in same tomcat’s deployed directory. If you put your servlet or xml file which required to restart tomcat, you cannot restart tomcat yourself. You need to send request to your web hosting company.

Private Java Web hosting

Private means private, not shared by others. Web hosting company provide you memory for your JVM e.g 32 MB, 64 MB, 128 MB more memory mean more cost. In private you can have option to restart tomcat server stop server start server. JVM is separate in this plan.

Limitation of shared java hosting

JVM Shared by all website which is hosted in same server. If some one using loop big loop in java, all process will be used by that website. Your website have to wait for resources to be freed by that loop.

If error come in JVM all website will be down

Not reliable for serious business

Limitation of Private java web hosting

Cost of Private web hosting is too high

I just like to say what an excellent thing you are doing, and I fit exactly into your bracket. I do not work in the IT industry, I could have done when I learnt FORTRAN IV many years ago using punched cards, and output from an IBM 1132 line printer. I wasn’t sure I was bright enough at the time & followed a biology route ending up as an entomologist/pest controller. I did have to do some computing at university though, & eventually ended up qualifying with Association of Computer professionals Java Programming level one. What I’m doing now is a web site using a few single jsp’s & MySQL. Also I have two web apps; one is Jchatbox, and the other a forum from terac board. Everything is connecting & working fine, on my development system using apache-tomcat-5.5.25 and MySQL 5.1 on windows XP. The deployment of war files was simple. Heres one question for you. If I’m using tomcat on windows, why can I not find a hosting service also using the same set up? I guess it’s because Linux is free & windows isn’t It’s a shame because it would be an easy step to go from a windows development set up, to a hosting set up with the directory structure etc. There are I believe a lot of people out there at my level that find getting it working on their own pc, to a hosting service on the web where they run Linux is a nightmare. Most of the computer people seem to need therapy, and to be in a constant bad mood. They have no tolerance no patience or understanding for people like me. This is where you are very clever to come in with your articles; Sun has been I bit of a disappointment, since they should be doing what you are doing. If they want people like me to continue with java they need to keep things lean & simple, at least at some level. I mean jsp pages are relatively simple & low on code, I modify code got from books & write in notepad, the key point is “it works”. Sun has messed up with development of Java Server Faces for people like me; it’s so complicated, they have left me stranded & behind. i just got comfortable with jsp & have progressed to integraing tag libraries from coldtags; thats the way Sun should be going – sort out a library of usefulstuff so we dont have to do much coding . Let me come back to my central point, that I have managed to configure tomcat, get the jsp’s to work with mysql through a jar connector, have managed to put things in the right directories, why does it need to be so hard to get the web pages up to a hosting service it get it working? Also if someone like me has managed to do this i ca not be that thick ? So Suns not catering for people like me. Keep up the good work. Anything you can do to clarify knowledge as to where things should go on a Linux system would help. E.g. on my windows system The root directory is inside the webapps directory. I put my War files in the webapps, stopped & restated tomcat did a bit of adjusting of a couple of files & they worked! My mysql-connector jar is in the lib directory of the WEB-INF, my bean class files are in the class directory which is also inside WEB-INF. All my html & single jsp files are inside the root directory. What would be the set up for Linux? One last thing i’m still looking for a good jsp hosting service where ypou get good service please list any you know of.

Posted By Easywayserver.com

We can understand your problem and frustration regarding java hosting on windows platform. Andrew it is very easy to configure tomcat and jboss or any java web server on windows platform. Java environment (JVM) takes lot of CPU resources and RAM resources, mean use maximum CPU for jvm. This results in, left less resource for other. Web hoster only host less client on that servers. Server hardware cost is much higher, this mean they have big loss in java hosting. Php take less resource as compare to java. So most of web hosting allows only PHP as scripting language and can park many domains on their server.

Second

Windows with java, Windows is product of Microsoft Microsoft have also own product as Dot NET. .NET only run on windows platform. .NET is also a framework and take lot of CPU resouces. If web hoster run both jvm of java and .NET on same server, mean they have to buy a very high speed Server and it is not good for them. Both take lot of memory RAM which is very costly in market. They also dont want to give both of thing together to customers. This is reasons behind on it.

Hope you understood.

you can try free java web hosting
