In context.xml of config of tomcat you can make entry to choose different directory folder for deploying your application. There is no need to copy in webapps directory.

tomcat/config/context.xml

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
<Context docBase="d:\myApp" path="/newContext" privileged="true">
</Context>

now you need to run this

http://localhost:8080/newContext

Mean even you can make new context according to your requirement. this is kind of virtual context for your application in jsp
