Hi,

Sending mail in linux is most easiest work. You have to just install sendmail package in linux. It is already installed when u install linux RHEL CentOS fedora or others. Linux has a command mail and mailx.

to send mail command is

Code:

mailx -s "Subject Message with Attachment" "emailID@domainName.com" < contentFile.txt

You can also use simple mail command also to send email through linux box.

All are same command only one change instead of mailx to use mail

But this does not send attachment it also depends on smtp or other options to encode the content to send email

Code:
mail -s "Subject Message with Attachment" "emailID@domainName.com" < contentFile.txt

This will send email through linux as inline content mail.
