This example will help to make jmeter testing plan for web based application and web application testing. JMeter is a desktop application mainly designed for testing Web application software. We can do different testing by Jmeter e.g. Performance testing, Loading testing and stress testing on dynamic and static web pages. jMeter is GUI based application and provide graphical result of the testing plans.
1. JDK 1.6
3. Any website to test
1. Creating Test plan in jMeter
First we need to start jMeter by jMeter.bat file, and jMeter GUI will open as per given image. By Default, it will show to options Test Plan and WorkBench. We can rename it as per our requirement, but we are leaving it as default name.
2. Creating Threads in jMeter
We need to add threads in jmeter test plan. This thread group will give options how many number of users should hit web page at the same time. We are taking only 100 numbers of users. This 100 user will access web page when test will begin.
3. Create Http Request in jMeter
We need to add Http Request in Thread group of jmeter. In this request, we can add web page which we have to test. Here we can define the IP address or domain name of application and URL path of the web page. We can also define request object name and values in this http request page.
4. Create Listener to Record the Result in jmeter
We can explore the detailed output of test plan when we have run on web application by adding listener in thread group. jMeter provides different option to check the output of the test plan. We are using here View result Tree.
5. Execute Test plan
To execute test plan we have to run to start.
